Hi! My name is Yolanda Ramirez, I’m from Co.Clare, Ireland, I moved to Glasgow in 2020 to study at the University of Strathclyde. I graduated from secondary school with a H2 (85%) In Maths and H1 in Physics (95%). I loved my maths and physics classes in school and decided to pursue a career in Physics, which I am currently studying at Strathclyde. The solid understanding in maths fundamentals I gained in school, thanks to my excellent teacher, has benefitted me hugely with my study of physics. I believe that obtaining a comfortable understanding in basic mathematical concepts will not only benefit my students to confidently tackle maths exams in school but also help in many ways throughout everyday life, no matter what path they choose.

Hello, my name is Daniel Betoin, and I am a fourth-year mechanical engineering student at the University of Strathclyde. I studied in England before coming to Strathclyde and achieved a grade 9 in my Mathematics GCSE, with an A* at A level. However, I have familiarised myself with the Scottish Higher and National 5 courses now. Last year I was placed on the Dean’s List for being in the top 10% of my year with an overall grade of 84%. I believe that having support around academia is crucial for success and student wellbeing, so I am excited to begin tutoring young people in Mathematics, and build their confidence with the subject.
