Maths Tutor Dennistoun

Jack

My name is Jack McCamley-Wilding and I am currently studying mechanical engineering at Strathclyde and have a passion for mathematics. I am a maths tutor in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow. I have always had an instinctive understanding for the subject. At school, I received As in National 5 all the way through to Advanced Higher maths and beyond. Recently, I left school in 2020 so have a great knowledge of the school exam system. Also, I can relate to my pupils concerns more than most tutors, due to this. I am devoted to trying to get more people interested in maths as I feel once it is understood fully, is an extremely rewarding subject. I am a national 5 and higher maths tutor. As I have a background in mechanical engineering, I do also offer physics tuition at National 5. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me regarding this as well. I am PVG checked and evidence of this can be provided upon request.

Andrew

My name is Andrew Tan, I am a fourth year student studying mechanical engineering at Strathclyde University. From a young age I have been intrigued and interested to learn more about mathematics, whether it was in the classroom or from examples in everyday life. I recently graduated from school in 2020, attaining an A in National 5 maths, Higher maths and Advanced Higher. As a mechanical engineering student, maths has continued to play a huge part in my education providing me with a further understanding past school level. Having recently left school and now studying at university, I am all too familiar with the struggles of trying to do well in an exam. I will ensure that my students have the best possible chance of not only passing their maths exam, but achieving a top grade. I am a higher maths tutor but also teach younger students so please get in touch if you are interested in starting tuition.

Jelle

Hello, my name is Jelle. I am a third year Biochemistry and Pharmacology BSc student at Strathclyde University, with a passion for the sciences. My course requires a thorough understanding of mathematics and its application real life scenarios with a large focus on data handling & analysis. During secondary school I achieved all As in Advanced Higher Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I started tutoring by teaching family & friends mathematics before I started working here, so I understand how helpful additional 1-1 support can be. Through my past experience I am knowledgeable with what teaching methods are most effective, and the importance of patience and discussion with students.
Mathematics can be confusing and frustrating; I hope by providing my mathematical and teachingskill I can help my students become more confident and knowledgeable.

Nina

Hello! My name is Niranjana, and I’m a 4th-year Aero-mechanical student at the University of Strathclyde.  Growing up, I was always fascinated by maths and physics, constantly curious about the world around me and seeking explanations for how things work. These subjects offer a window into many of life’s unanswered questions, and they’ve been at the core of my academic journey. In secondary school, I achieved all As in my Highers and Advanced Highers, including Advanced Higher Mathematics of Mechanics
As a student myself, I understand that grasping complex concepts can be challenging. My goal is to tailor my tutoring to each student’s individual needs, helping them not only achieve the best possible grades but also build confidence in tackling difficult questions. Having studied within the Scottish curriculum, I am very familiar with the content and various teaching methods. I offer tutoring for Nat 5 Maths and Physics, as well as for younger students. Everyone has a system that works for them, and I will help you find and develop yours!

Priya

Hello! I’m Priyamvadha Krishnadas. I’m a third-year student at Strathclyde University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Accounting. Like many students, I once found Mathematics challenging and believed it was only for the brightest. However, as I delved deeper into the subject, I discovered its beauty and realised how fun and rewarding Maths can be! With the right guidance, anyone can excel – just like how my teacher helped me during my studies in Advanced Higher Mathematics. I achieved A-equivalent grades in India, with 86% in Class 10 (equivalent to National 5) and 87% in Class 12 (equivalent to Higher). My experience in university-level mathematics, paired with my passion for teaching, allows me to simplify complex concepts and make learning enjoyable. I’m excited to help students find joy and confidence in Maths while also boosting their grades.
